PED Directive 97/23/CE
Frigo 2000 is authorized to emit the CE branding in conformity to essential requirement of security for pressure equipments applying the valuation procedures previewed until category II, directive 97/23/CE (PED).
PED Directive is acknowledged in Italy with the Legislative Decree of 25 February 2000, n. 93, Performance of directive 97/23/CE in matter of pressure equipments.
From the 29th May 2002 pressure equipments, that re-enter in the application field of the directive, must obligatorily be consistent to the directive itself.
The directive has the main goal to guarantee the security of the pressure apparatuses; in particular the manufacturer has to analyze all the possible risks deriving from the pressure and, consequently, to plan and construct the equipment keeping in mind his analysis.
The Certification is reported to the exercise characteristics based on the security requirements of the pressure components according to defined criteria of good planning rules, constructive phase and previewed controls assuring the product conformity to the directive itself.
Appraisals’ purposes is that every subordinated equipment should be in accordance with essential security requirements enclosed with the directive itself.
Integrating part of the appraisals are inspecting verifications in the production site, tests and examinations on samples, examinations of the documents that accompany the equipments, all carried out through the specific modules chosen by the customer in the directive.
The PED is mainly apt: * To guarantee a planning, a construction and a sure employ of the pressure equipments. * To harmonize the technical norms in order to concur a free commerce within the European Community. * To apply the Directive to all the processes of realization of the pressure equipment: plan, construction and verifications of pressure equipments.
Where is the PED applied?
The products that are marked inside a state member must accept the directive. The equipment destined to different markets as regard as the states members do not have necessarily to correspond (for law) to the directive, is however imaginable that the customers not pertaining to the European community, consider this requirement as representative of an increased quality of the product.
When is it possible to affix the CE brand?
The CE mark will have to be affix on pressure equipment belonging to categories I-II, the supplier will be able to affix the CE mark only after having demonstrated that it answers to all applicable essential requirement of security and correspondents to the conformity modules.
